Where are you from?
I am originally from West Sumatra, Indonesia.
Assuming you started off skateboarding at what point did you move to photography and why?
I’ve been skateboarding since 1999 until now. Why did I work in the field of photography? Because in Bali there was no skate photographer at that time. Only surf photographers and wedding photographers were around. So, in 2013 I just started my career in skate photography. Another reason I chose photography is to introduce my friends to foreign countries.
Is there one skate shots you wish you had taken?
I hope to shoot someone doing flip tricks in double set – Indiana jones spot Sanur Bali.
Proudest moment as a photographer?
The best moment was when my photo was bought by a well-known brand.
Most embarrassing?
The most embarrassing thing when I took a photo shoot and I forgot to bring my memory card. (laughing).
What gear are you shooting with?
I use a camera, Canon 6d, Ricoh GRiii and a smartphone.
What is on your wish list?
I really want to explore the islands in Indonesia, where people have never skateboarded before.
Indonesia just banned sex outside marriage. This must be pretty crazy to live in a such a country. What is your view on this?
I do not have a problem with it. The law only applies when a party raises it as an issue. This is why I do not have a problem with it. Why are we so afraid of the news?
Last question. If you could interview one person, who would it be and why?
Hmmm.. I want to interview the president, why does he want to be a president? (laughing).
