‘While on route to a romantic, hinterland get-away with his lady, Pat [Pollock] noticed some unique hillside concrete. I can’t give it the luxury of calling it a spot as it’s that rocky shot-crete (concrete that has never seen a trowel let alone wheels). He messaged to see if I’d be keen for a crack of dawn session, so he could be with his partner before she woke up. I set my alarm for 3am and passed out with a big grin on my face. I was hyped to hear from Pat, his stylish trick selection delivered with brute force always makes for an electric session. Coupled with a rare opportunity to shoot a skate photo x mountain range at sunrise…
Windscreen wipers were on as I drove through the misty hillside to Pat’s very wet andsteep location…words not typically synonymous with an ideal run up or landing but that didn’t stop Pat from jumping right into it, trying to find the best/minimal carve line through this thing, so as to not explode on the wall gutters/the ice-like roll-away. After a handful of said explosions, it looked like Pat found his line by hugging the wall and popping over the gutter into the slipperiest glory ride ever known. Looking good on the line in, took the fs wallride perfectly, mac10 ollie over the gutter and… explosion….a solid head knock on the roll away. A testament to his character and vision, Pat took a second, brushed himself off “right here for Buns!” and like that he was glory riding his way back to bed.’
