Dee Duncan, I live in Chicago, Illinois.

How long have been drawing skateboard shoe sketches and why?
Pretty much my whole life, I’ve always been into the skateboarding culture. Vans and chucks where a big part of my childhood.


Where do you get the inspiration from?
When I was younger I got most of my inspiration from skateboarding magazines like Thrasher. I was obsessed with the santa cruz hand illustration. Whether it be the illustrations on deck designs or the fashion associated with it.

Proudest moment so far?
I just had a baby boy almost 2 years ago. So becoming a dad I would say.

What does skateboarding mean to you?
Skateboarding means freedom of expression.

If there is one thing you could change about skateboarding, what would it be?
I think skateboarding still has a negative connotation associated with it still.
