‘I went back 10 years later and asked Aldrin (Garcia) to re-shoot it (Donger shot). I asked him to grow his hair out but it would not get long enough. So, my girlfriend put in extension instead. As I was shooting it, my friend called me to say that a skate buddy died. That is why I never showed anyone this photo except for my girlfriend until I sent them to you now. I wanted to send it to the Skateboarder if they wanted to run it along with a story about the original Donger shot but they went out of business. I never did anything with that photo.’
