‘So – this was one of the first skate pics I ever took. It was in front of my house in Carlisle MA around 87/88. My Mom had a Canon AE-1 with a 50mm lens. Our new friends from Fitchburg, MA (a very rough town) came to visit for the first time to Carlisle. It must’ve been a culture shock to them… skating in the woods with nothing for miles around. I got injured skating – but wanted to hang with my new friends so I think I just grabbed my Moms camera and snapped half a roll. I developed the photos maybe months later. When I got the roll of film back and showed it to my friends and they were incredibly stoked. After that, I was always trying to get that same reaction from my fiends. So this is why I love this pic the most. There is nothing contrived. Pure stoke.’
