‘I chose the photo I took of Jeroen Bruggeman in the Awarehouse DIY skatepark in Mechelen. I was skating at the skate park myself that night. Not sure if I would take pictures that night, so my gear was in the car. I had noticed that Jeroen would make an effort to make the gap over the stairs, and I thought to myself; that can make for a nice photo. I talked to Jeroen about it and asked him some time to get my equipment in the car and set up. He assured me I would have plenty of time as he would need some more tries. Because it is indoors and the lighting is not easy, it was important that the lighting setup was perfect. It took me 15 or 20 minutes that I was barely ready and Jeroen landed the trick on his second attempt. But the picture was perfect. so you see that sometimes great things can happen when you least expect it. The photo has already been picked up by Volcom for a flyer/ poster for a local event a few weeks ago.’
