What came first? Skateboarding or painting?
Ever since I was young, art has been an integral part of my life. However, it wasn’t until I discovered skateboarding that my creativity skyrocketed to new heights. The adrenaline rush of skateboarding, the freedom of movement, and street skating culture all combined to inspire me in ways I couldn’t have imagined.

Which technics do you use for your paintings?
I am a traditional artist who also creates digital art. I prefer using ink over graphite because I like the clean and confident lines it produces. When I create, I rely on my intuition rather than planning out my artwork. I tend to enter a flow state and let my imagination guide me.

Where does the inspiration come from to create artwork?
It comes from my friends, family, movies, games, and life experiences. I tend to get hyper-fixated on things and immerse myself in whatever I am nerding out on.

Proudest moment?
One of my proudest moments would have to be when I host events for the local community. Every now and then, we host skate jams at our local skatepark. Seeing skateboarders and roller skaters coming together to show love and support for each other is a great feeling. This holds a lot of weight in my success, and I love to inspire the next generation of creatives in the east end of Houston.

Do you follow other skateboard inspired artists?
Ed Templeton, Frankie Gamboa (owner of curbslayer), Kris Markovich, and many others. Too many to list. (laughing).

Which board company do you lkie most in terms of their graphics?
I really like Blast Skates, especially because of their simple yet eye- catching graphics. Their marketing approach is inspiring to me.

If you could interview any person in the world, who would it be?
I really admire Willem Dafoe because I think he is a very memorable actor and one of my favorites. His recent role in “At Eternity’s Gate” where he plays Vincent van Gogh was impressive and relatable. The classic portrayal of a mentally tormented artist is something that I find very relatable. Plus, I would love the opportunity to get a photo with the legendary actor himself.

To what extend is van Gogh relatable to you?
I have been diagnosed with OCD, PTSD, and high-functioning autism, which can make simple everyday tasks quite challenging at times. I have learned to conceal it well, but it does affect my life and my creative pursuits. However, I don’t want to sound pessimistic. Through therapy, the support of my wife, and skateboarding, I have managed to overcome many of these obstacles. I hope to be an inspiration to others, showing that being different doesn’t mean you’re alone, and it’s okay to talk to friends about it.
