What is your name and where do you live?
My name is Sebastian Abboud, and I live in Nanaimo, BC, Canada. We’re located on Vancouver Island, ~170 km from Vancouver.

How long have been drawing skateboard sketches and why?
I’ve been making skateboard art and illustrations for ~9 years now. I didn’t really find art until a bit later in life, but now it’s a part of my everyday activities. I got my first skateboard ~23 years ago and it’s been a part of my life in someway, ever since then.

Where do you get the inspiration from?
Everywhere. Life, the internet, magazines and books. I’ve never had a hard time coming up with ideas, it’s just a part of the process. Some of my favourite artists/illustrator /designers are Geoff McFetridge, Thomas Campbell, Nathaniel Russell, Jeremy Fish, Benny Gold, etc. etc. There are so many!

What does skateboarding mean to you?
Skateboarding for me is individuality and expression. There’s no rules or things you have to do in a certain way, it’s just fun with your friends. It’s relatively cheap to get started and you can just barge out your front door and explore.

If there is one thing you could change about skateboarding, what would it be?
Nothing! Skateboarding is in a pretty good place right now and is a lot more open and welcome to all types of people from all backgrounds, which is awesome.
