What is your name and where do you live?
I’m Wei -Ting Huang, I live in Taiwan.

How long have been drawing skateboard sketches and why?
I started making skateboarding drawings about two months ago when Taiwan went under lockdown due to a sudden surge of COVID-19 cases. I couldn’t go out skating, so I was just thinking about skateboarding pretty much all the time. I realized most skateboarding sketches are static pictures and though to myself, ”Why not make these into short animations?”

Where do you get the inspiration from?
Skateboarding clips on Instagram are my source of inspiration;that’s how I find clips to reference for my animations.

What does skateboarding mean to you?
I think skateboarding is awesome. It has enriched my life. I’ve also made a lot of good friends through skateboarding. Skateboarding is my life.

If there is one thing you could change about skateboarding, what would it be?
I hope Taiwanese government will learn to accept skateboarding as they do for any other sport and stop viewing skaters so negatively.
